A starter kit should match the tub’s water volume and chosen treatment system. Learn how to test and use the products before the first fill; a box of chemicals is not a complete care plan.
Confirm the sanitiser system
Check the tub instructions and the treatment products supplied. Chlorine and bromine products have different directions and compatible tests. Do not switch or combine systems casually, and never mix chemicals together.
Read the contents list
Check whether the kit includes sanitiser, suitable testing, pH adjustment and any other required products. Product names and pack sizes matter. A bromine granule kit, for example, should not be described as if it contains slow-release tablets.
Know the water volume
Doses depend on the product, measured volume and test results. Keep the model’s water-capacity information and current labels available. Do not use a universal scoop or a dose borrowed from a different tub.
Prepare the practical equipment
Identify the correct filter, compatible cleaning products and a secure storage location. Keep original labels and instructions and store chemicals away from children as directed.
